Pop and classical are inextricably linked. How could you have a guitar without a harpsichord? Or a keyboard without a grand 88 keys? The BB&T series foments this mash-up with a double-header on Saturday. Cowboy Junkies spent last year celebrating the 20th anniversary of their 1988 breakout, Trinity Sessions, releasing Trinity Revisited. They’re the dessert. Kicking off is the Louisville Orchestra’s rendition of Claude Debussy’s “Clair de Lune” and Bizet’s “Les Toréadors” from “Carmen.” The star here just might be 14-year-old violinist Stephanie Zyzak, who will perform Henri Wieniawski’s “Allegro moderato” from Violin Concerto No. 1 in F-Sharp Minor. She’s one of three winners of the Association of the Louisville Orchestra’s Young Artists Competition. —Mat Herron
