Two events this weekend serve to remind of the recent carnage laid upon Palestine by an over-armed Israeli army. The first and smaller of the two, Friday night at Cards Café, will feature poetry and spoken word, artwork by Palestinian artists and skits by Out On The Edge, a local queer playwright group.

The second, Saturday at the Rud, features singer/songwriter Teneia Sanders, spoken-word artists Rae Hodge and Tytianna N.M. Wells, and Sharon Wallace, a Louisville peace activist who went to Gaza in January to provide aid to Palestinians. She will report on her experience and share photos.

All donations from the two nights go to PARK, the Palestinian Agricultural Relief Committee, which provides aid to farmers in the West Bank and Gaza. —Stephen George
