Have you ever wondered how you can keep carbonation in champagne? Why bartenders always pour the alcohol in first and then the mixer? If garnish really influences the taste of your cocktail? It’s questions like these that keep me up at night. Lucky for my Tylenol PM habit, “The Science Behind the Cocktail,” an after-hours event hosted at Gilda’s Club Louisville, will explore the entertaining and educational side of cocktail creation. Presented by Canadian Mist Whisky, the interactive event features Canadian Mist’s Chief Entertaining Officer Tim Laird and Spirits Scientist Steve Hughes, who will answer any and all of your bartending and science-related questions. Question No. 1: Who is to blame for the Jagerbomb craze? (Drinks and apps included in the $25 cover.) —Sara Havens
