Focusing on the students, parents, teachers – all of whom are heavily invested in the success of their shows – the documentary offers a fascinating inside look at the production process from auditions and rehearsals through ticket sales and opening night.
Written and directed by Barry Blaustein, whose work includes the award-winning documentary “Beyond the Mat,” as well as the feature film comedies “Coming to America, “Boomerang” and “The Nutty Professor,” the project is co-produced by Lionsgate, SHOWTIME and Spitfire Pictures. Blaustein is executive producer, along with Spitfire’s Nigel Sinclair (producer of the Grammy Award-winning documentary “No Direction Home: Bob Dylan”).
