Actors Theatre of Louisville’s Apprentice/Intern Company proudly presents The Belvedere, a performance piece conceived, written and directed by Company member Brittany Parker.
Based on Clifford Odets’ plays “Awake” and “Sing and Waiting for Lefty,” “The Belvedere” focuses on the current recession, and explores the idea of finding hope in one’s community amidst an economic crisis. Arriving on the heels of the one year anniversary of Lehman Brothers, Inc’s bankruptcy filing, “The Belvedere” asks members of the Louisville community to examine their own personal definitions of recession, and their ability to thrive in difficult times.
