‘Family Tree’ @ Starvin Artist Art Gallery

Through Oct. 31

Starvin Artist Art Gallery
608 Baxter Ave.
338-3908

From the artist:┬áthese new works in “family tree” are about relationships … experimenting with industrial and natural materials to unify works … paintings are cut and deconstructed, boxes and frames are constructed and then assembled together again in fresh compositions that become three dimensional and lighted from behind and within from their own internal light source …. this is a modern play on the classical still life’s – a series study termed “not so still life’s” – these works surreally questioning gravity’s existence and playing with the viewers sense of known reality … various animals and trees are the thread of interconnectedness that unite this new series within a series and study of pairs that deepen the sense of relationships in a family tree … this exhibition reflects the artists life of living in as intimate a relationship with the natural world as possible and the illogical expressions that materialize.
