For most of us, New Year’s Eve is about poisoning the body one last time — all in the name of fun, of course. For others, it’s about celebrating transitions and resolutions and rebirth and crap like that. For us, there are more than 300 watering holes in town offering up drinking, dancing and dicking in the new year. For them, there’s but one place to converge on Thursday night — The Lounge at Wenzel and Chestnut.
Musicians/healers The Sirens, the Troubadours of Divine Bliss and Lizzie West & Baba Buffalo will be conjuring up the spirits at this party, which also touts tarot card readings and a “Table of Intentions” with a special potion, and calls upon “healers, wishers of wonder, theater of the absurd and visual delights.” Mmmkay. For any of us wanting to spy, don’t worry, there’s a full bar, and DJs Pella and Pizz will spin between exorcisms. —Sara Havens
