Whiskey Row okayed to be demolished

According to WHAS11, a settlement has been reached between developer Todd Blue and Louisville Metro regarding the cast-iron storefront buildings on Main St. known as Whiskey Row aka the Iron Quarter. Blue has been given permission to demolish the seven buildings that that are on the National Register of Historic Places. Preservation Louisville says it is extremely disappointed and will take whatever steps necessary to protect the history.

    What? No way! They can’t knock those buildings down, they are an important part of Louisville History!
    I lean on those buildings sometimes when I’ve been drinking!
