Weekend visual arts events

The Free Family Fun Workshop at the Carnegie Center, 201 E. Spring St., New Albany, is making Story Quilts for African American History Month, and in conjunction with our current exhibit “Form, Not Function: Quilt Art at the Carnegie.” Saturday, Feb. 12, 10 am-12 pm. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Suggested ages 2-12. Pre-registration is required and on a first come, first served basis. Call 812-944-7336 to register.

Preservation Louisville’s next Hands on History is “Historic Plumbing & How to Deal With It!” on Feb. 12 from 1-4 p.m. $20 members, $30 non-members. Registration is required. The Brennan House Historic Home, 631 S. 5th St., 540-5146.

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft, 715 W. Main St., 589-0102, is offering the workshop “Intro to Tinsmithing: Create Your Own Candleholder.” Make your own beautiful candleholder out of new and salvaged tin with local blacksmith Lewis Meyer on Saturday, Feb. 12 from 1- 4 p.m. $38/KMAC members, $43/non-members.
