Children’s Spring Break Workshops at KMAC

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft’s Education Department, 589-0102, 715 W. Main St., is hosting several drop-in workshops during Spring Break week where parents will have the opportunity to create artwork with their children. Parents and kids ages 4 and up are invited to stop by anytime between 1-4 pm during April 4-8 to spend 20-30 minutes on a hands-on art project, then tour the Museum’s three floors of exhibition galleries. The cost is $6 per child. No reservations necessary.

The projects offered are:

Monday, April 4 – Weaving: Participants will learn the basics and leave with a small woven piece.

Tuesday, April 5 – Polymer clay: Participants will learn how to create beads and other fun pieces with polymer clay.

Wednesday, April 6 – Painting: Participants will paint a fun scene or portrait.

Thursday, April 7 – Puppets: Participants will create a puppet out of fabric, yarn, and other materials.

Friday, April 8 – Collagraph: Participants will learn how to make a print using this fun printmaking technique.
