On Friday, Oct. 28, the opening reception for the Carnegie Center’s, 201 E. Spring St. in New Albany, new exhibit “Powering Creativity: Air, Fuel, Heat” from 6-8 p.m. will be just one of many great events happening in the vicinity that evening. Visitors to the Carnegie Center can walk across the street to the New Albanian Brewing Company’s Bank Street Brewhouse to enjoy a “deinstallation celebration” for Leticia Bajuyo’s public artwork “Brew History: All Bottled Up.” Other notable events and happenings that evening include a presentation on localism and independent businesses at River City Winery, the 9th anniversary of NABC brewing, and the 7th anniversary of Destinations Booksellers opening in New Albany.
Friday also marks the release of the new book, “Sculpture and Design With Recycled Glass” by Cindy Ann Coldiron. Bajuyo’s sculpture is featured in the book and it will be available for purchase at the Carnegie Center and at the Bank Street Brewhouse. The book sells for $49.99, with $10 of the purchase price going to support the New Albany Public Art Project: Bicentennial Series.
