Weekend visual art events

PYRO Gallery, 624 W. Main St., is hosting a SWAN Day Celebration on Saturday, March 31 at 2 p.m. SWAN (Support Women Artists Now) features female artists ranging in age from teens to 60s presenting a wide range of work in the visual arts, poetry, narrative, dance, music and theater.

The Louisville Visual Art Association, 3005 River Rd., 896-2146, is presenting Art Buffet, a series of three drop-in art workshops for all ages. The first Art Buffet will be Sunday, April 1 from 1-4 p.m. This workshop will center on the current exhibit, LAFTA (Louisville Area Fiber and Textile Artists). Participants will learn about the quilting process and be able to make a small version of their own. Facilitated by LAFTA artists, this event touches on all aspects of learning, from physically making your own quilt, seeing and touching completed quilts, and listening to and reading storybooks about quilts. $5 per person, ages 4 and up welcome.
