“Our House: Recent Works in Glass by Joel O’Dorisio” at Carnegie

The Carnegie Center for Art and History, 201 E. Spring St. in New Albany, 812-944-7336, is showing “Our House: Recent Works in Glass by Joel O’Dorisio” from June 1-July 28. O’Dorisio explores the relationship between his fascination with the inherent wonder of the natural landscape and the contrived beauty of the city. To achieve a balance between these disparate elements, O’Dorisio creates molds of the bark from different types of trees that he then incorporates into cast glass sculptures.

The opening reception is Friday, June 1 from 6-8 p.m. Enjoy refreshments and music by the Jamey Aebersold Jazz Quartet at the opening reception (free and open to the public).

O’Dorisio will give a gallery talk on Saturday, June 2 from 10:30-11:30 a.m.
