The Louisville Master Chorale presents its holiday program Sunday featuring all three parts of George Frederick Handel’s “Messiah.” It will include the favorite choruses and solos from parts I and II (the Christmas and Easter sections) as well as the apocalyptic part III in its entirety. Mark Walker will conduct a chorus of 60 and 15 professional instrumentalists.
“To me, ‘Messiah’ is much more than a religious prose; it is the quintessential musical allegory of human redemption through divine sacrifice,” says Walker. “We as listeners are taken on a journey from unrest to rest, from the disjunct to the reunited, from despair to joy.”
