Thaniel Ion Lee at Swanson Reed Contemporary

Artist Thaniel Ion Lee will be at Swanson Reed Contemporary, 638 E. Market St., from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19. He will be there to discuss his work in the current exhibition “Body & Soul.” The show also features art by Dylan Mortimer. It ends Saturday, Nov. 21.

21c Museum Hotel plans to open a hotel in Cincinnati

The group behind Louisville’s 21c Museum Hotel is renovating the former Metropole Hotel, a historic landmark in downtown Cincinnati. The unique combination of contemporary art museum, boutique hotel, and award-winning restaurant has proven a successful model in Louisville. They are also building one in Austin.
 

New mural by Clare Hirn at U of L Outpatient Center

A new mural called “Integral Spaces” by artist Clare Hirn is in the lobby of the U of L Health Care Outpatient Center at 401 E. Chestnut. The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft served as the liaison between Hirn and the Center.

The National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Rocco Landesman has recently started on an “Art Works” tour. He has plans to come to Kentucky but the city and date is unknown at this time.

The Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft’s Art Car Weekend is featured on KET’s “Louisville Life” program. It will be shown on KET2 on Thursday, Oct. 29 at 7:30 p.m. (and again on Sunday, Nov. 1 at noon) and KET on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m.
