“Pathways: 20 years of Open Doors” at LVAA

The Louisville Visual Art Association is showing “Pathways: 20 years of Open Doors” from March 12-April 9. The exhibition is part of LVAA’s Open Doors program. The reception on Thursday, March 18 from 5-7 p.m.

The Open Doors program, founded in 1989, provides art classes and enrichment experiences to communities that have limited access to the visual arts. Projects pair local professional artists with community groups, giving voice to under-served populations including persons with disabilities, refugees and immigrants, elders, at-risk youth, and victims of domestic abuse. Projects include GuardiaCare Art therapy program, the “Fundred Dollar Bill Project,” a nationwide effort to help neighborhoods in New Orleans and Splash In!, a collaborative community installation.
